Arts in the Park announced for August 4th!
On August 4th HartBeat presents a free multi-disciplinary arts festival in Bushnell Park called “Arts in the Park.” Building on HartBeat’s past Plays in the Park series, this project will highlight performances from three to four summer youth arts programs in Hartford featuring almost 80 Hartford youth. The festival will culminate in a family-friendly performance by HartBeat Ensemble at 5pm.
Funding for Arts in the Park is provided by the City of Hartford Arts & Heritage Jobs Grant Program.

Five Years in the Parks
In July 2010, HartBeat celebrated the 5th Anniversary of Plays in the Parks with a “Best of” series. The Ensemble brought back a variety of its original, interview-based plays and musicals from previous years.
Previous year’s themes included, “The economy hits home” (2009); “Connecticut’s health care crisis” (2008); “Homelessness in Connecticut” (2007); and “Work stories” of Greater Hartford’s everyday citizens (2006).
